I've had various small compressors and they are usually louder than the 80db rating they get, that high pitch kind of noise that is hard to talk over.
Listen to youtube reviews of many compressors and you'll know what I mean. This DeWalt one is rated at 75 but it's more of a Harley Davidson exhaust sound rather than a high pitch race bike exhaust sound. It's fairly loud but not bad, can talk over it if you aren't very close to the compressor. The regulator is variable and easy to adjust to the desired setting. Drain valve is placed not in the center bottom where the water/condensation accumulates, but rather on the side of the tank just about where your see the feet welded on. This means to drain it, pick it up and tilt it, then open the valve. At 160 psi or so the air bursts out with quite a bit of moisture for such a small tank. I paid more for this compressor than the other brands but am very happy with it.
The 2 quick connects that are on this unit are like my picture shows. I'm not sure what the style is called. I wanted the C type used in most automotive applications so I had to remove the 2 quick connects from this compressor and change them. I believe woodworking uses the style like I have in my picture, if so, you might not have to change them out like I did.
